This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Aquid as a job seeker (employee) to create a profile, search jobs, and apply to employers.

By creating an account or using our services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. What information we collect

When you use Aquid as a job seeker, we may collect:

Account details

Name, email address, phone number, password or login credentials, profile photo.

Aquid profile data

Headline, location, work experience, education, skills, projects, certifications, salary expectations, notice period, job preferences, uploaded CV/portfolio links.

Usage and device data

IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, clicks on jobs or employers, and approximate location based on IP.

Communication data

Messages you send to employers, messages received from employers, and support conversations with our team.

Consent and preference data

Notification settings, profile visibility settings, and consent logs where required by law.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

Provide and improve the service

Create and maintain your account, show your Aquid, recommend jobs, and improve search and matching quality.

Help you find and apply for jobs

Allow you to apply with your Aquid, share your profile with employers when you apply or opt in, and track application status.

Enable communication

Let employers contact you about roles, and allow you to respond through our messaging tools.

Secure the platform

Detect fraud, abuse, or policy violations, and protect our users and systems.

Legal and compliance purposes

Keep records required by law, respond to legal requests, and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal data to data brokers.

4. When we share your information

We may share your information only in these situations:

With employers and recruiters (with your action/consent)

  • When you apply to a job, your Aquid and relevant information are shared with that employer.
  • When you set your profile to “visible” or opt in to be contacted, verified employers may discover your profile through search.

With service providers

Trusted vendors that help us run the platform (hosting, analytics, email delivery, payment processing). They can only use your data to provide these services to us.

For legal reasons

If required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or other users (for example, responding to lawful requests from authorities).

Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

We do not share your contact details with any employer unless you apply, explicitly opt in, or turn on discovery/visibility settings.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep your data:

  • As long as your account is active, or
  • As long as needed to provide the services and meet legal or regulatory requirements.

If you delete your account, we will:

  • Remove or anonymize your profile data within a reasonable time, except where we must keep some records for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on your country’s laws (including India’s DPDP Act and other applicable regulations), you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Update or correct inaccurate details in your profile.
  • Delete your account and profile, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Change visibility of your profile (for example, hide it from employer search while still applying manually).
  • Opt out of marketing emails or certain notifications.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, such as encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and audit logs.

Your data may be processed and stored on servers outside your state or country. Where required by law, we take steps to ensure appropriate protection for such transfers.

9. Children’s privacy
